
Dr. Calder knew he wanted to help others in the healing arts from a young age. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with Great Distinction and an Honor’s Thesis in stroke research. He received federal funding for his work at The Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience in Lethbridge Alberta prior to attending dental school. He received his Dental degree from the University of Alberta in 2006 and has been in private practice ever since. He and Connie are the proud parents of 5 children and enjoy all the Okanagan has to offer together.
Dr. Calder is an avid golfer and enjoys cooking in his spare time. Quail Ridge Dental is the result of he and Connie’s vision for providing a space and philosophy that is safe and warm. They look forward to welcoming you and having you join the Quail Ridge Family!

We're excited to welcome Dr. Alanna Head to the Quail Ridge Dental team! Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Alanna has called the Okanagan home since 2021, bringing with her a solid foundation in dentistry and a deep passion for patient care.
Dr. Alanna earned her Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of Manitoba before completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2021. Throughout her academic journey, she received several awards for excellence, including special recognition for her exceptional treatment planning skills.
Dr. Alanna has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry and offers treatments such as Botox, which can be used for both aesthetic enhancement and therapeutic purposes, as well as Invisalign to help patients achieve straighter, more confident smiles. She is also certified in dental sedation and is especially skilled at supporting anxious patients, known for her calm, compassionate demeanour and ability to create a relaxed, supportive environment.
Dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care, Dr. Alanna continues to pursue advanced clinical education and has completed training at the renowned Kois Center. She incorporates advanced dental technology, including CBCT imaging and digital scanning, to help patients better understand their oral health and feel confident in their treatment plans. Her approach emphasizes clear communication, personalized care, and long-term oral health.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Alanna enjoys everything the Okanagan has to offer, from hiking and snowboarding to spending time on the lake. She also enjoys time with her two pets and values quality time with her family and loved ones.

Tasha brings over 13 years of experience in dentistry to the practice, combining clinical expertise with a strong passion for patient care. She completed her Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) program at the College of the Rockies and has further expanded her skill set with an orthodontic module.
Tasha began her career as Dr. Calder’s primary assistant, where she built a solid foundation in clinical excellence and patient relationships. Today, she serves as the office manager and treatment coordinator, playing a key role in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
She is deeply passionate about dentistry and takes great pride in being part of a clinic built from the ground up. Tasha is dedicated to creating a positive, welcoming environment for both patients and the team.
Outside of the office, Tasha enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. As a family, they love being outdoors—whether it’s paddle boarding, hiking, or playing pickleball together.

Originally from Vancouver Island, Grace moved to the Okanagan four years ago to attend Okanagan College and graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant. Her passion for dentistry developed at a young age as she watched her mom thrive in her career as a Certified Dental Assistant. After graduating from college, Grace loved the Okanagan so much, she decided to call it home.
With her lovely smile and calm personality, Grace can help even the most anxious patients feel at ease. Grace has many roles in the clinic, from assisting Dr. Calder with his procedures, to working in the lab on crowns, nightguards and clear aligner therapy. She is a girl of many talents.
Grace enjoys spending time with her family in her down time. You will find her hiking, biking, skating, sleeping and crafting! She loves it all!

Sydney was born and raised in Alberta and spent many years visiting British Columbia with her family. Having fallen in love with Kelowna and the Okanagan as a child, she later chose to make Kelowna home so she could enjoy the region’s beautiful scenery and vibrant lifestyle year-round. Sydney completed the Certified Dental Assisting program at Okanagan College and joined our team shortly after beginning her career in dentistry. Sydney is passionate about patient care and loves helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and at ease throughout their dental visits. She has a genuine enthusiasm for dentistry and enjoys being part of a team that helps patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. Her warm and caring nature allows her to build meaningful connections with patients while creating a positive and supportive experience in the clinic. Outside of work, Sydney enjoys staying active by going to the gym, hiking, and taking long walks while exploring the Okanagan. She also loves spending quality time with friends and family and relaxing at home with her cat, Leia.

Heather started her career in the dental field in 2016 as a Certified Dental Assistant. As her passion for her patients grew, she decided to go back to school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Heather graduated from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2020. She practiced in Alberta until April 2024. She then made the move to the Okanagan where she accepted a position with us at Quail Ridge Dental. Heather has been with us since July of 2024. She took the summer off after her relocation to enjoy her first Okanagan summer and travelled to Italy to get married!
Heather has a cat that she loves dearly and enjoys reading books snuggled up with her.

Tara was born and raised in Kelowna and is proud to call the Okanagan home. After high school, she travelled internationally as a Scuba Diving Instructor and later spent five years living in Mexico, where she was deeply involved in animal rescue and community care. No matter where life takes her, she always finds her way back to the beautiful Okanagan. With a background in administration and management since 2019, Tara has developed a strong passion for dentistry and patient care. She is especially fascinated by the connection between oral health and overall wellness, including its impact on heart health and quality of life. Tara loves helping patients feel welcomed, supported, and confident in their dental experience. In 2025, Tara joined the Gospel Mission Community Dental Clinic, where she helps provide essential dental care to individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship. Supporting her community through accessible dental care has been incredibly meaningful to her and continues to inspire her passion for the profession. Having also worked in several local clinics, Tara is thrilled to now be part of the team at Quail Ridge Dental. Outside the clinic, Tara enjoys making the most of everything the Okanagan has to offer, including biking, hiking, camping, and skiing. She also loves watercolor painting, reading, and spending time with her dog, Mandy.
